The "Request" tags

Posted under Tags

I believe that source_request, translation_request and commentary_request should be meta tags instead of their current category, due to the nature of those. Probably copyright_request, artist_request and character request should be in that category as well, along with tagme.

Saying that because those tags don't describe the picture in question, which is why general tags are usually for. As for copyright, character and artist, I think it'd be tidier if those three also were meta tags, for both consistency and the purpose of the tag categories they currently belong in.

I have no argument about the first three, but I would argue against the latter three. Those serve a function being in the category for which they are requesting, as that is where you look to see what characters, copyright, etc are on that image. Seeing the Request tag in that category makes it obvious, when looking in that category, that there is something lacking for that category.

The first three are not directly linked to the category in which they reside, thus my argument against moving them does not apply.

I will note that the system may not allow these to move. If you try to move a tag with over a certain number of entries, 900-1000 generally, the request times out every time. There is a work around, but it requires a **massive** amount of manual work (Move images from a to a-temp, change type of a, move images back).

Yes, all of these tags should be meta.

And yes, this broken-ass website won't let it happen. I've tried.
