Why do a lot of tags get aliased to something different?

Posted under Tags

I’ve noticed it for a long time. But why do tags like Animal Crossing, Mega-Man, Rosalina and other tags get aliased to something that they aren’t referred to as? I really don’t see the reason behind this and it can leave with a lot of confusion for others. I really just don’t see the point in doing this as it’s really not even needed.

A lot of aliases are English to Japanese names or vice versa. Some people might be used to one language's name over the other and try searching for that tag, and there's no reason for the tags to be separated since it's for the same thing and would cause tags and organization to be messy, so they just connect them.

Yup, all alias to their Japanese names.

U should know, there are lot of languages in this world except English, (I have seen lot of Espanol in this website)

And not every languages translater other languages just with 'copy letters'.

But everything on this site is English and not Japanese. I would understand if it was a Japanese centric website but basically everything else here is in English. I really wish that we could just have some of these tags as the names that most people know them as. If we wanted that. Then it would be better off if there was a language setting for certain users. Not alias the tags to something that not everyone will refer to them as.
